Homage to #219C

I've never heard of anyone paying homage to a pantone colour before... Oops, I take that back. I do it everyday. My PINK bag, my PINK wallet, even my PINK namecard is in appreciation of PINK.

For those who aren't in the design / creative / marketing business, you may not know what PANTONE is. PANTONE LLC is the world-renowned authority on color and the accurate communication of color across a variety of industries. The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer.

This December, even Barbie is doing it!

Pink has always been Barbie's colour and innovative designer Linda Kyaw has incorporated this bright and unforgettable shade of pink into Barbie's wardrobe!

A whirl of Pantone color tags swirl around Barbie doll to create the asymmetrical skirt leading up to the faux-leather bodice. Each tag is labeled for Barbie®’s signature color — 219C. According to Kyaw, “Pink, being one of the most important elements of the Barbie brand, has been used in almost every imaginable way. The challenge was to interpret the shade with an unexpected twist, and since Pantone is to color what I believe Barbie is to fashion, combining the best of both was the first step.”

I'm definitely adding this Barbie into my shopping wish list this Xmas!! It would be a pink & funky acquisition to my barbie collection (a story for another day).

LOTD: Rainy Days

Its been a rainy affair these few mornings and I'm so thankful to have bought myself a lovely pair of laced wellies from Far East Plaza a couple of months back!

Photobucket

Dressing to match my wellies, my look of the day involves a timeless pair of high-waist denim shorts from MNG, matched with a white long-sleeved shirt to keep me a little warmer on this rainy day, and accessorised with a black and a white belt. To top it off, my colleague, Lisa, styled me in her leopard print hat - Love the leopard trend now!

Don't you think my next photo looks a little like a Steve Madden advertisement? Lisa is a little taller than me so when she took this photo, the angle made my head look giganteus! Throw in a colourful background and WALLAH!

Big Boy Toys

Today, Mr Yap got himself a big boy toy, complete with accessories to go along with it.

Meet Gitzo...suited up for work!Don't underestimate Little Mr Gitzo - one of this could buy me a sizeable LV speedy.

Last Friday, Mr Yap traded up his 1+ year old Bowers & Wilkins entry level speakers for these pair of hunks to pair up with his Rotel triplets! Mr Yap was all for praise for the improved audiophile quality of these big brothers. I'm very impressed with his accessorising skills.

Pink, Harry Potter, Cambridge & Bag

Ever since Mr Yap and I took a left turn and ended up shopping at Liang Court two Sundays ago, I fell in love….

What does ‘Pink’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Cambridge’ and ‘Bag’ have in common? The Cambridge Satchel Company!

We chanced upon a modern lifestyle furniture shop called ‘The Bear Knows’, walked in, and there they were, sitting neatly on a wall shelf. Candy pink, classic brown, royal green, smashing red, cheerful yellow. 11inch, 13inch, 14inch, 15inch. Satchel, Batchels, the whole schmachels. Smelling like 100% leather should.

Love!

It was a good thing my favourite colour only came in the too small 11inch. Size does matter.
Dragging my sad yet hopeful feet, I marched home and googled, googled, googled.

Even though The Cambridge Satchel Company had too many complains about the few month long delivery delays, I found many alternative online sources. Not all of them had the colour I wanted but after a gruelling search, I found my new favourite Cambridge Satchel colour…

1 week later, a package arrived.

The next day, everything was dressed down to match my new 13inch Fluro Pink!

Guess my weakness

Last Sunday, a text came through:

I made my way down to Forum @ Orchard to meet my shopaholic husband, and an hour later… we were a few GUESS richer!

UP TO 70% MOVING OUT SALE, only at Guess @ Forum.

My finds were mostly between 50 to 70% off. I bought the Juliette Lace Top in both cream and black coz I couldn’t decide! The belts are going at one price $29.90, including leather ones! Their heels are mostly priced at $49.90, but I decided not to buy anymore since I’ve got 4 pairs of Guess Heels that I seldom wear due to my low tolerance for pain.

Yesterday, my colleagues and I had errands to run in town so we headed down to Ambush @ Ngee Ann City for lunch before splitting. Swaging in my newly purchased Violet Leapord Print Guess Jeans…

Mr & Mrs Yap

Mrs Yap:
A young 20something living in Singapore, born of Singapore.

Mr Yap:
A young 30something living in Singapore, born of Penang.

They met some 5 years ago, and they wed some 5 months ago. The end.

Now that we’re done with introductions, let’s get down to the introductions!

Before Mrs Yap became Mrs Yap, she pretended she was a princess, was a bit of a tomboy, enjoyed playing lego, dabbled in softball, she was a little bit crazy over Korean music, she lived in New Zealand for a bit, and she adored Barbies, still do.

As for Mr Yap, he is…
- An audiophile, who enjoys the pleasure of listening to the best reproduction of music in the comfort of our home.
- A creative consultant and perfectionist, who adore beauty in all its forms: in nature, art, fashion, design, people, jewellery, etc…
- A photographer, who loves communicating with life, sensitively capturing existence in its fleeting state on camera.
- A loving husband, who wants to provide the best for his wife…
- And lastly, my favourite personal shopper and stylist!

Whether it’s shopping, fashion, beauty or art... this blog marks our journey together.

Why the sudden urge to blog again?

I've been meaning to start another blog again. My previous blog was more like a sharing session with close friends and family. I love writing. I love sharing. Recently, Mr Yap and I have been exploring a bit more of the world, doing a bit too much shopping, discovering too many lovely finds, and pouring our money into awesome sales. So why not keep note of everything we do, buy or wanna buy?
